My career has offered me the chance to cross paths with the magnificent, Jane Seymour. The general public knows her best as an actress with both beauty and grace. Her elegance may only be rivaled by Audrey Hepburn. As I got to know more about her as a person, I discovered there was true kindness behind her fame.
She has directed her life and her work to a VERY IMPORTANT mission...OPEN HEARTS. Jane has formed the Open Hearts Foundation and has been utilizing her talent as a fine artist as well as her popularity as an actress to help children all over the world.
Jane established Open Hearts Foundation to raise funds to enrich the lives of children in the areas of health, arts, sports and education. The Foundations goal is to bring the Open Heart movement into communities worldwide by providing funds to childrens charitable organizations.
I will be working on a new series of paintings which will be based on children and will begin contributing to Open Hearts Foundation 20% of online sales from this series. You may already purchase "The Boy" (already appears on aspiretogreatness.com in our "Inspirational" category. Although that one is sold, I can make one just for you!)
I strongly urge EVERYONE to financially contribute to Open Hearts Foundation so that they may continue to enrich all children in need.
Doctors, celebrities, and artists join together to BUILD and STAFF medical clinics throughout Africa. This is an AMAZING group of young people who have actually done something wonderful to help the people in need in Kenya, Ghana, and Uganda (so far!). Specifically, Natalie Portman has been involved with this wonderful group.
I had the good fortune to be invited to participate with them in the fight against HIV/AIDS and other diseases throughout Africa. Their determination to not only educate, but heal the sick and impoverished is tremendous.
I was honored to be asked to help.
So far, we have sold several paintings together and the money has gone to building a new medical clinic in Ghana. I pray that many more of you purchase a painting from aspiretogreatness.com so that we may continue to filter U.S. money into this organization. We are committed to stomping out HIV/AIDS throughout the world and lwala.org is actively and specifically working within the medical community to do just that.
While standing on the checkout line at Dick Blick (I needed some canvas), I met a simply wonderful Gentleman named, Pascale. He was shopping from a list to get all kinds of art supplies. He had a distinguished look about himself...dressed quite well, calm energy emoting from his aura, and he was rather dark-skinned, poised, and graceful. I asked him if he was an artist (since most artists I know don't shop at the art supply store from a list!).
He replied, no, not really. He continued to share how he adores the arts and was actually shopping to help support an artist in Haiti. Furthermore, he was on his way (the following morning) TO Haiti to deliver not only the art supplies, but many other things as well.
We shared a brief but powerful moment together and the very long line we were on seemed to vanish instantly. In that short time, I felt very connected to Pascale. Turns out, he flies back and forth from NYC to Haiti to continue working toward helping the Haitian people recover from the devastating earthquake that struck that region more than 1 year ago.
So powerful of a man is Pascale, that I vowed to help him in anyway possible. Immediately, I have included www.haitixchange.com as a new link here on aspiretogreatness.com. I graciously invite all of you to help him by clicking over to haitixchange.com and donating goods, services, and MONEY to the people of Haiti. There are many ways to help the Haitians. haitixchange.com is a smart way to help. They not only provide news and videos about and from Haiti, but they actually get on a plane at JFK and fly the U.S. donated goods directly to Port au Prince and deliver them directly into the hands of those who need it.
What can I say that hasn't already been said about this special human being...May God Bless Oprah - and everyone she loves!

This is the famous Iron Workers Having Lunch statue inspired by the famous B&W photo from 1932. Taken on the 54th floor during their lunch break, by photographer, Charles Ebbets, he captured a rare moment in time. Sergio Furnari captured their essence and brought these great men to life!
